Volkameriana Lemon (Citrus Volkameriana)

DESCRIPTION

The Volkameriana Lemon does not have botanic origins; some say it is a hybrid between a lemon and a bitter orange, in order to explain the orange colour of its fruit when ripened. The latter looks like a small orange at a first glance, but its taste is typical of lemons, although less bitter than them, and has quite a few seeds. It is round-shaped and quite big.

USES AND FUN FACTS

The Volkameriana Lemon is a vigorous tree, rougher than lemon trees, its vegetation being of a beautiful green and its flowers being purplish. Compared to other lemon trees, it also bears calcareous and saline soils better.

WEATHER RESISTANCE

Like many varieties of lemon trees with orangish fruits, the Volkamerian Lemon can bear cold temperatures, but we recommend sheltering it with appropriate materials when under -4 °C.
