This tree develops a lot; it is very vigorous and has a globose, spreading foliage. Leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, they are medium-sized and of a light-green colour. Fruits are very big (7-9 g), ellipsoidal, asymmetrical, with a pointy apex and a rounded base. It has a good resistance to cold, but is a bit sensitive to bird’s eye spot disease and scab. Santa Caterina is a partially self-fertile variety, but takes advantage of cross-pollination. Ripening is early and picking is carried out around the beginning of September, when olives are still of a beautiful intense green.
