Meyer Lemon (Citrus Meyeri)
The Meyer Lemon is a hybrid, likely a cross between a Lemon and a Sweet Orange. It is a very productive cultivar, with an average vigor and a higher resistance to cold temperatures than other lemon trees.
USES AND FUN FACTS
What makes the Meyer Lemon a good ornamental tree is its purplish flowers growing in bunches, and its yellow-orange fruits when fully ripen. After having been pruned, the Meyer Lemon quickly grows a new, thick foliage rich in perfumed white and purple flowers that resemble oranges in their taste. This tree is not very vigorous, but it bears fruits abundantly.
This tree can bear up to -6 °C, so we recommend sheltering it below this temperature even with a simple old sheet.
