CORREGGIOLO – OIL VARIETY
Native to the Florentine area, Correggiolo spread all around Tuscany, where it also got different appellations. Correggiolo is actually a name that includes other varieties as well.
Almost self-incompatible (few fruits can grow from self-pollination). Very vigorous plant with a semi-pendulous growth habit; foliage is spreading and quite dense, leaves are elliptic-lanceolate and medium-sized. Fruits are green or darker and have an ovoid shape, slightly asymmetrical and medium, small-sized. Flowering is early, production is good and constant; fruits grow in bunches and ripen gradually.
It has a high oil yield (19-20%) and the product is a high-quality one. Olives can be used for direct consumption.
