CASALIVA – OIL VARIETY

CULTIVAR:

Casaliva is a variety native to Lake Garda.

CHARACTERISTICS:

It is a leathery plant with a spreading and globose foliage. Despite being self-fertile, it takes advantage from cross-pollination with other varieties. Unlike the Frantoio variety, it has a late starting age of fructification. Inflorescences have a medium length and number of flowers (16-18) and a low rate of abortion of the ovary. Drupes ripen late and gradually. Production is high and constant, and takes place in Lombardy, Veneto (especially in the area of Lake Garda) and Trentino.

PRODUCTION:

Oil yield is quite high: 22-24%. The result is a light and perfumed oil, fruity and well-proportioned, with bitter and savoury notes and orange-green hues. It Oil yield is quite high: 22-24%.
